| Introduction: "Omnitherm® Wool" | ||
| Omnitherm® is unlike any other fabric in the world. Before we developed our first yard of cloth in 1980, we began with a list of the qualities we needed for serious outdoor exploration. | ||
| Of course we wanted a truly effective camoflage, but we also needed a fabric that was absolutely quiet, warm without being bulky, lightweight and comfortable to wear. It had to be tough enough to stand up to the vigors of the outdoors, and weatherproof enough to handle rain, snow and wind. It had to be versatile enough to wear climbing a mountain or sitting on top and do it all without the on-again, off-again layering shuffle. And after your adventure, it had to be easy to care for at home or 15 miles from the nearest road. | ||
| Omnitherm® is machine washable because machine washing tightens and felts the wool in the fabric. The more you machine wash your Omnitherm® gear, the more weatherproof it gets. | ||
